With the switch in China from products containing Lead, a new range of problems have e Gcreated for the British consumer. Electronics goods that were once manufactured using Solder containing Lead are now being shipped with Lead-Free solder connecting components to the main board of many computer products.
XBOX 360
The Xbox 360 has this problem and it is referred to as the 'Ring of Death'. The problem is caused by the very high temperature of the Graphics processing chip causing fractures in the Lead-Free solder. The Xbox owner is not aware of the problem until one day, the Xbox 360 flashes 3-Red-Lights instead of turning on as normal.
PLAYSTATION 3
The PS3 has exactly the same problem as the Xbox, high Graphics processing capabilities generate heat and the very same, Lead-Free solder is fracturing in the same way as the Xbox 360. Unlike Microsoft, Sony will not admit that there is a problem with the PS3 and they will not budge on offering just a 12 month manufacture warranty on the Playstation 3 console.
SALE OF GOODS ACT

The Sale of Goods act extends to 6 years after the purchase of a product. If you prove that the product was faulty at time of purchase you have the right to claim a full replacement or refund from the retailer.
